The $4,200 Risk: Why I Stopped Buying Cheap Ink and Started Reading TCO
I almost went with the wrong vendor again.
It was Q2 2024. I was sitting in my home office, staring at a spreadsheet comparing quotes for a new production printer. On the left, Vendor A—the name I didn't recognize—offering a dye sublimation setup for $3,800. On the right, the Epson 8550 at $4,200. The spreadsheet said the answer was obvious: save $400.
